Welcome to Encyclopedia of Booze

Welcome to EOB where we are all about alcohol and the history of booze. When you go to the local bar and order a rum and coke you never realize that there is a history behind the making of the rum. How did the different alcohols from around the world come to be? What is Whiskey and how is it different from Scotch? How come Gin is such a strong smelling alcohol? What is the best Vodka? We are here to answer all these questions and more. We have extensive knowledge in the alcohol industry with a combined 50 years of making, selling, and of course drinking alcohol. Let us take you on a tour of the world’s finest and most expensive alcohol. We will share recipes and videos showing you how to make drinks the correct way. Too often we watch in horror as an amateur with a little bit of money buys a fine Cognac and chugs it like a frat boy at school. If people knew the hours and effort that went into making a fine Cognac they might not be so careless. Just because you see it in a rap video or on a movie screen does not make it alright to waste such good booze. We will focus on the five major liquors that are prevalent in the U.S. markets. They are vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whiskey. For those that want to learn more we will share our knowledge of other liquors that you may have never heard of.

Then there is the wine and beer portion of our site. With the explosion of micro breweries and small wineries it seems very hard to navigate what all those descriptions mean. What is the difference between a lager and a pilsner? What kind of wine should I drink with fish?  We will show you the proper way to order wine when out at a restaurant. How to properly open and pour wine is a skill that should be learned by everyone. Quick tip: The reason the server shows you the cork is so that you can see the cork is moist and the wine has been stored properly. Don’t sniff it!
